Tall Tales has 22 two to three page stories that vary in reading difficulty from beginning third through beginning fifth grade to meet a range of needs.
There are traditional tall tales such as Pecos Bill, Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox, Slue-Foot Sue, Stormalong, John Henry, Mike Fink, Johnny Appleseed, and Davy Crockett, and Joe Magarac to name just a few.
There are original tall tales such a Farmer Ted, Jesse O, and Little Sir, the Rooster.
practice activities for every story include: a comprehension page, a vocabulary page, two pages for practice of skills such as : character analysis, figures of speech (similes, idioms, alliteration), sequence of events, quotation marks, and parts of speech.
